November Meeting
It's time again for our monthly meeting of Victory's Thunder MC. The club is currently in a membership drive and
we REALLY need your support. Please bring a friend with you to the next meeting, owning a Victory is not a requirement
and the membership fees have been waived for the rest of the year.

Not Goodbye
It has been my pleasure to be your President over the past one and half years (give or take). We as a club, have gone
through a lot of changes, some good, some not. A successful club is a lot of work and anyone who has been on the board
since the club was formed, knows that it has been no cake walk. My current obligations do not allow me to continue beyond
the regular term, which expired this month. Normally, we would have elections but the board has decided to postpone
this until Spring. With the economy, electing a new president, holidays, etc., I think this is a smart move.
In the interim, Jason Pucket will takeover as President until a new board can be elected. Jason has always been
there for the club and I hope that some of you can pitch in to help him in his new duties. Alan and Jack will also continue
in their posts. To Jason, Alan and Jack, I say thank you. I could not have led the club through some difficult
times without your support. You guys are just not fellow board members, but my friends.
I hope to see all
our members on upcoming rides and events, as this not a goodbye.
Just a see you
next time.

Club Meeting and Elections
On October 11th, we will have our monthly meeting at Freedom Power Sports, 12:00 noon. Please attend so you can nominate
and vote for your choice of officers for the new year (November 2008 thru October 2009). This is vital to the club's
growth and we need your support. If you cannot be there and wish to nominate someone, please contact an officer and
let them no your choice. There is a lot to do in the upcoming year and we can use your support and leadership.
As your outgoing President, I can tell you it has been rewarding and challenging to be an officer. Leadership is not
easy and you cannot always please everyone. But, the friends I have made in this club are ones I cherish and there is
so much potential in our club, too much to tell you in this short blog. Thank you for your support and I hope to see
you on a ride or meeting in the future.

Best of Plans...
It was a beautiful morning...
Our bikes were clean and Fall was in the air...
Chickamauga was our destination...
One problem though...
NO ONE HAD ANY GAS!!!
Can you believe that? All the way from Barrett Parkway
to north of Acworth, station after station on Highway 41 had NO gas, nada, zippo, none. After finally finding one station
well off 41 that only had regular (which sucks in my Vic), we decided to cancel the ride. Too bad, it was such a nice
day.

Ride this Sunday to Chickamauga
Don't forget...
This Sunday, September 21st, is our monthly club ride. We will leave Freedom Power Sports
around 9:30 am for Chickamauga Battlefield Park, ending the ride at the Melon Patch Southern Diner in Chickamauga. From
there we can take backroads back home or hop on I-75 for a faster return.

Meeting Reminder
Our monthly meeting is this Saturday, August 9th. The Officers will set up our tent around 9:00am as part of our Summer
membership drive. Our meeting will begin at noon, but come and hang out with us Saturday morning if you can. We
will have all our Club Gear with us, if you want another patch or t-shirt.

Membership Update
Your Board had decided to suspend membership dues for the rest of the fiscal year (October 31st). Any new member can
join for free and will only have to renew in November (should the next Board reinstate the dues). Great way to invite
someone into the club wiithout any monetary commitment.

Coriell of Cartersville.
Chris has a 2002 TC and is in the process of making several improvements
to it. Improvments to a Victory??? How can you improve perfection? Well, good luck Chris with your new bike
and we look forward to seeing you at our next meeting and ride.
Alan Hooper, our Treasurer, has bought us a tent
and table setup that we used today at FPS. Wow, that was a nice way to meet and greet prospects and members. In
fact, we like doing it so well, that at our next monthly meeting, we will be at FPS when they open and hang out there all
morning until the meeting starts. Look forward to us doing this more often as Fall arrives. Please join us early
next month for our monthly meeting and hang our under the tent. Refreshments (cokes, etc.) will be supplied. Hope
to see you there.

Our monthly ride is next Saturday (not Sunday) to the Dillard House in North Georgia. We will meet at Freedom Power
Sports at 9:00 am, leave at 9:30. Come hungry, because you won't leave hungry!

Jim Ballew Update
Talked to FPS today, Jim is supposed to be released Wednesday from the hospital. He has some fractures, but no broken bones
or other serious injuries. Having been through and known a few that have come off their bikes, he will be sore for some time.
Please keep him in your prayers for a speedy recovery. I will bring a get-well card with me to Saturday's meeting so that
the club can sign. Will update again if I find out more information.

*** ATTENTION ***
At the Open House today, Jim Ballew was hurt on his motorcycle along with two people that were attending. No
details or how Jim and the others are doing. Jim and at least one other person were transported to a local hospital.
We don't yet know which hospital.
Please keep them all in your prayers this weekend. As I know more,
I will post it here.

Sunday Ride Postponed
Due to the 50% chance of rain for tomorrow afternoon, we will postpone this ride to the following Sunday, per our 40/40 rule.
This ride is too far out to chance running in thunderstorms. Please check back prior to next Sunday, May 25th.
We understand if you have Memorial Day Weekend plans and cannot attend. If you can, please post in the Blog section
of our website.
